###### Beginner's Mind (Shoshin)
> "In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities, but in the experts there are few."
> ā Shunryu Suzuki
> "Always remain a beginner, this is the secret of Zen."
> ā Suzuki Roshi
No matter how experienced we are, there is always more to learn and room to grow. Revisit teachings over and over with an open mind and a willingness to learn. Rather than discarding a question when we find an answer, continue asking the question ā *live* in questions. By keeping our original attitude of a beginner, our wonder, [[intuition]], and creativity arise and understanding naturally deepens, enlivens, and enriches itself.
- We ask Why, why, why and then quickly realize we don't know very much. But that's in part because we're applying linear thinking to a non-linear universe where everything is connected to everything else, including in ways we can't see and including in ways we've yet to learn about.
- [[š Principles, rules, labels, and judgments are mental shortcuts borne of experience]]
