#### In-sight
When a person is using in-sight, their [[π‘ Presence]] is in relationship with their own [[π‘ Parts|Parts]]. This is the primary way we interact [[π‘ Parts]] in [[βοΈ Internal Family Systems|IFS]], but it's no better or worse than [[π‘ Direct Access|Direct Access]] β most of the time it doesn't matter which is used.
###### The Benefits of In-Sight[^1]
- We can quickly identify and [[π―οΈ Unblending|unblend]] from from a large number of parts.
- We can move quickly and [[π―οΈ Embodiment|embody]] our own [[βοΈ Self-Energy]].
- Allows us to meet with our parts between therapy sessions.
###### Requirements for In-Sight
- We're aware of [[π‘ Parts|Parts]].
- We have enough [[βοΈ Self-Energy]] to communicate with them.
- [[π‘ Protector Parts|Protectors]] are willing to [[π―οΈ Unblending|unblend]],
If a person can't use in-sight, an [[π‘ The IFS Practitioner|IFS Therapist]] may use [[π‘ Direct Access#Direct Access|Direct Access]].
Some people canβt do In-Sight until their [[π‘ Parts|Parts]] feel safe enough with the therapist. Some parts need a direct relationship with our therapist so they can be reassured that our therapist is competent, safe, and caring.
