🔼: [[⭐️ Emotions]] ###### Sympathetic Joy[^1] Also known as the Pali and Sanskrit word "Mudita," Sympathetic Joy is taking so much pleasure in the joy of others that their good fortune might as well have happened to us. For some of us it can be difficult to be happy for others who've had a recent success or good fortune, because it can feel like there's only so much happiness to go around – but this is a (very normal) mistake some [[💡 Parts|Part]] of us sometimes makes. By keeping this in mind we can come to recognize that being happy for another person isn't the same as putting ourselves below them, and it isn't the same as giving away our chances of living a joyful life. ###### Example Abby Wambach’s Wolf Pack point-n-run. When she scores a goal, she immediately points to the person who made the assist or the coach who called the play. When someone else scores a goal, she’s the first person to run to them.
