Those work by turning on our [[💡 Serotonin (5-HT)]] 2A receptors, while MDMA brings about an enormous amount of [[💡 Serotonin (5-HT)]]. It induces a positive mood, euphoria, reduces anxiety and depression, and it lowers [[💡 Amygdala]] activity so much that we are able to access traumatic memories without being overwhelmed by them.
