##### Neuroplasticity
Neuroplasticity is our brains' ability to use new experiences to physically change themselves over time, based on what we [[Practices π―οΈ|practice π―οΈ]], do repeatedly, or commit to [[π‘ Habits|habit]]. Neuroplasticity is involved in [[βοΈ Learning|Learning]], [[π‘ Memory|Memory]], neurological repair, and [[π‘ Trauma|Trauma]] recovery.
We used to believe it happened only in childhood, but our brains remain plastic through our entire lives β we are never finished growing, we remain dynamic for life.
Essentially, the things we think, do, practice, and pay attention to change our minds over time for better or worse and become mental habits, called Cortical Thickening. This is a good thing, because it means we can intentionally heal our psychological wounds and balance our natural [[π‘ Negativity Bias]].
We adults can deliberately trigger neuroplasticity by applying [[π‘ Focus & Concentration]] to what we want to change, through repetition or [[Hypnosis]], and the change itself happens during [[βοΈ Sleep]] and deep [[βοΈ Rest and Restoration]].
