Created by [[👤 Peter Levine]], Somatic Experiencing is a "bottom-up," naturalistic, neurobiological, and [[⭐️ Body]]-centric approach to healing [[💡 Trauma]] and other stress-related disorders.
[[🔑 Trauma can heal somatically]], and Somatic Experiencing does this by providing a framework to assess which [[💡 Stress Response]] we're stuck in so that we can use our body to create new experiences that contradict the [[💡 Trauma|💡Traumatic Event]]. Somatic Experiencing teaches our [[💡 Protector Parts]] and [[💡 Exiles]] that they are safe to [[💡 Unburdening|unburden]].
