🔼: [[🛠 Medicinal Plants 🌿]] #### Tea [^1] ##### Infusion To boil leaves, flowers, and other parts full of oils would cook out their healing properties. To make an infusion, boil 1 cup water per TSP of herb and pour it over the plant. Allow to steep for 30-60 minutes or up to several hours or even overnight depending on desired strength. ##### Decoction For roots, barks, twigs, and some seeds and nuts, a higher heat and longer cook-time is required. Using the same proportions as Infusions, place the herbs in cold water, cover, then bring to a simmer for 30-45 minutes. After simmering, for added strength, allow to steep overnight. ##### Solar and Lunar Infusions The sun is often associated with masculine or [[💡 Sympathetic Nervous System|Yang]] energy, bringing warmth, cheer, outward energy, and radiance. The moon is associated with feminine or [[Yin]] energy, said to enhance dreams, visions, intuitions, and receptivity. There are some who believe the sun and moon can have an affect on our tea the same way they do on our [[⭐️ Body]]. It's worth a shot, if it sounds fun. ###### Solar Tea 1-2 oz of herb in 1 quart of water in a large, lidded wide-mouth jar. Leave the jar exposed to the sun for several hours. We can make an infusion or decoction first for added strength. ###### Lunar Tea 1-2 oz of herb in 1 quart of water in a large jar or glass bowl. No lid necessary, though if there are bugs, cover with a cotton cloth. Expose to moonlight overnight, then strain and drink first thing in the morning. We can make an infusion or decoction first for added strength. [^1]: [[📖 ✅ Herbs for Stress & Anxiety - How to Make and Use Herbal Remedies to Strengthen the Nervous System]]
