###### š An IFS practitioner must be Self-led
- A practitioner's [[š” Parts|Parts]] should not lead or have an influence over the direction of the session. Nor should they approach clients' parts with an agenda to make something happen.
- The practitioner should be a source of safety and embody the [[Qualities of Presence āļø]].
- The practitioner should demonstrate that [[š All Parts are welcome exactly as they are]], be up for welcoming and listening to all [[š” Parts|Parts]], and extend warmth to them.
- The practitioner should have [[š Restore Parts' trust in Self and in Self-Leadership|enough trust built]] with their own [[š” Parts|Parts]] that they are able to stay [[šÆļø Unblending|unblended]].
- The practitioner should be able to detect their own [[š” Parts|Parts]] and their client's parts at the same time and be present with their client.
- Sometimes a practitioner speaking *for* (not from) their own [[š” Parts|Parts]] can be helpful to their clients.
