##### 🔑 We are not any one of our parts
Human beings are a rainbow of [[💡 Parts|Parts]] and are not defined as any one of them. It can be very easy to identify with a [[💡 Parts|Part]] ("I'm an angry person," "I'm an artist," "I'm an alcoholic,"), but to identify with any one of those things is to severely reduce ourselves and other people. We are what [[Emergence|emerges]] from the totality of our [[💡 Parts|Parts]] and the [[⭐️ Relationships]] they have with [[💡 Presence]] and with each other.
Likewise, it's easy to form our entire conception of another person from the way one [[💡 Parts|Part]] or [[💡 Part Constellation]] behaves, but this is also a mistake. When we dismiss human beings because some of our [[💡 Parts|Parts]] want to [[💡 Polarization|polarize]] with some of theirs, we miss out on so much. There is love in them. There is [[💡 Presence]] in them. [[🔑 There are no bad Parts]].
This does not mean, however, that we don't set [[🕯️ Boundaries|boundaries]] in [[⭐️ Relationships]] or put distance between ourselves and people who do not feel safe to us. We can acknowledge a person's humanity, have [[☀️ Compassion]] for the pain their [[💡 Exiles|Exiles]] are in, acknowledge they are being led by [[💡 Protector Parts|Protectors]], and step away.
