###### 🔑 We need Protectors Ideally [[💡 Presence|Presence]] would attune to [[💡 Parts|Parts]] as they arise, and normally a [[💡 The IFS Practitioner|practitioner]] can help us with this, but we can't have a one on call at every hour of the day, and [[🔑 We are not expected to be unblended at all times]]. We need to be able to feel our emotions without being overwhelmed by them, and healing can be painful. Sometimes we need [[💡 Protector Parts|Protectors]] — ideally equipped with skillful [[Protector Strategies 🛡️|methods]] which are unlikely to cause inner or outer harm, or to inspire [[💡 Polarization|polarizations]]. Our Protectors can help us become more [[💡 Resilience|resilient]]. There is a reason we go to [[💡 Exiles|Exiles]] slowly and (usually) one at a time. [[🔑 Exiles are capable of overwhelming us]], and it would be reckless to invite them all to arise to be [[💡 Witnessing|witnessed]] at once. Our [[💡 Protector Parts|Protectors]] keep our [[💡 Exiles|Exiles]] as safe as they can so that we can [[🕯️ Titration|titrate]] and connect with them one at a time. It is not bad to have [[💡 Protector Parts|Protectors]] — it is *good* to have them. [[🔑 Emotional Regulation is not the end goal]], but we can't heal all our parts at once. As we allow our [[💡 Protector Parts|Protectors]] to do their jobs, we move forward on [[🦮 How to Recover from Trauma|🦮 the path to trauma recovery]]. [^1]:
