##### 🔑 Everything is connected to everything else We have a tendency to imagine the earth, even the cosmos, as a bunch of stuff separated by empty space — we see space as nothingness when it's what binds it all together; space is a holding. Nothing and no one exists in isolation, and if it appears that any one is separate from any other it's only because we can’t see the connections because we’ve been culturally and linguistically taught to see the world as a bunch of separate things instead of the unified, interdependent whole that it is. And it’s because of this that when we do something to disrupt or damage the earth’s ecological balance, or when we hurt others, we also hurt ourselves; we hurt everything. I believe that a fractured worldview, the belief in separable things, the belief in individualism, in [[✍️ The Myth of Self-Reliance]], in the independent existence of any one from any other is a primary cause of [[the Meta-Crisis]]. This mirrors how the inner fragmentation we experience as a result of [[💡 Trauma|Trauma]] is a primary cause of various [[Medical Conditions and Diagnoses]]. Any one thing is best understood in relationship with everything else. What are its parts? What is it part of?
