##### Anchors[^1]
An anchor is anything, anyone, any place that helps our [[💡 Parts|Parts]] to feel safe and secure and they can be helpful in all sorts of ways.
Anchors can...
- ...be internal, such as a pleasant or neutral place in the [[⭐️ Body]].
- ...be external, such an a person or object that brings us comfort.
- ...be a [[🕯️ Resourcing|🕯️ Resource]]
- ...be a [[💡 Meditation Anchor|meditation anchor]].
- ...be a [[🛠 Pendulation Anchor]].
- ...help with [[🕯️ Grounding]].
- ...be paired with [[🕯️ Breathwork 💨]].
It may be worthwhile to make a personal list of anchors unique to us. We can add to the list when we find or think of new ones, and it's normal for this list to change over time. It's okay to just have just one or two.

###### Physical Anchors
These are wonderful for either keeping with us or making visible in our [[💡 Home]] or [[🛠 Sacred Space]], somewhere we will see them often. Also excellent for doing [[🦮 How to get to know your parts solo]].
Keeping a textured object nearby, or better yet having one we can wear, holding it, and noticing how it feels in our hand can us with [[🕯️ Grounding]] and bring mindful awareness to our [[⭐️ Body]] and sensations.

- Spiritual entities
- Pets, grandparents, or other loved ones who may be no longer alive
- Spiritual teachers, healers, and guides
- Nature
