##### π Parts Log
This is a kind of [[π―οΈ Mindfulness]] practice I made to help me discover [[π‘ Trailheads|trailheads]] and notice [[π‘ Parts|Parts]] throughout my day. It helps with [[βοΈ Connection]] and to become more familiar with [[π‘ Parts|Parts]] over time, just by observing.
> [!tip] A Parts Log is not a Catalog
> The Parts Log is not intended to be a densely detailed catalog of our [[π‘ Parts|Parts]] that we refer to on an ongoing basis. Like the [[π Parts Map]], itβs a kind of βdipstickβ tool that tells us whatβs going on with our Parts *right now*. Our Parts can change day-to-day, especially as we get to know them and help them heal. The notes we take about our parts will likely be out of date shortly after we make them β through there are exceptions.
###### The Practice
I ask myself a few questions and note the answers. Sometimes as I'm about to go somewhere that may be challenging or to be with challenging people. Notice and listen to your thoughts.
1. What are the [[π‘ Trailheads|trailheads]] / channels through which I experience the part? I might do a quick [[π§ Body Scan]]. There might be a physical sensation, and Iβll note its location in, on, or around my [[βοΈ Body]]. It could be one or multiple body parts or my entire body. It can be pressure, heat, cold, tremors, sweating, thoughts, feelings β anything that isn't a [[π‘ Presence#Qualities of Presence|Quality of Presence]], and anything with a change agenda.
2. What's activated them?
3. When and how did I recognize them as a part?
6. If I can get [[βοΈ Curiosity|βοΈ Curious]] I might ask something like: "What is there to learn from this? What are my parts telling me?" and listen for an answer without thinking about it. I note that too.
