# Good notes recontextualize information
The books and lectures we consume keep ideas contained within the author's chosen context, but when we [[🦮 How to Take Good Notes|take good notes]] we remove them from that context, enabling us to think beyond the scope of the text and find real-world applications for what we've learned and integrate what we've learned with our [[💡 Permanent Notes]]. We also train ourself to go into new learning with the intention of integrating it with what we know already, and [[🔑 The more we know, the easier it is to learn]].
