#### On Plant Medicine Dosage... [^1]
We all respond a bit differently to various herbs and treatments, so dosage is pretty arbitrary. Luckily when we're using herbs there's a much lower risk of "overdosing" because most commonly-used herbs are safe and nontoxic, even if a couple have a precaution to take.
At the time of writing, every herb in the guide is considered safe, and any potential concerns are noted. Still, it's a good idea to do some research on an herb before trying it.
We might ask ourself: are we relatively healthy? Are we typically sensitive to treatments? Do we get sick often or only every now and then?
What are the symptoms we're looking to treat? What's at the root of them? [[π‘ Chronic Problems]] or [[π‘ Acute Problems]]? Short or long term? Inflammatory? Hot? Cold? Both?
Ultimately, this is an exercise in getting to know our own body. Check in with your parts before trying something. How do *they* feel about it? After we take something, check in again. How are they feeling? Any physical or psychological changes? Listen to the body. Our body is a trustworthy friend, always looking out for us. Below are suggestions, not rules.
