##### Transition Out of Meditation When we end any kind of [[🕯️ Meditation 🧘]] it can be a bit jarring to immediately open our eyes and go back to what we were doing. There's benefit to be had in slowly transitioning out of our inner world and into the external world. - Wiggle our fingers and toes. - Small, mindful movements in our hands, arms, feet, or legs. - Stretching our neck on either side. - Deep breaths. - Become aware of sounds, textures, smells in the space around us. - Become aware of the room. - Lastly, slowly open our eyes. ###### Advanced If our [[💡 Parts|Parts]] are willing to unblend during [[🧘 IFS Meditations]], we're likely to notice the arising of [[Qualities of Presence ☀️]]. Rather than simply opening our eyes and going about our day, we can see if they’d be willing to let us hold this state of [[💡 Self-Leadership|Self Leadership]], even with our eyes open. We try slowly opening our eyes and see if it remains. Sometimes our [[💡 Protector Parts|Protectors]] immediately jump in. See how much you can hold this sense of Self as you come back and go about your day. Over time this helps [[🔑 Restore Parts' trust in Self and in Self-Leadership]] and we may find that as we practice this and our parts see that nothing bad happens, we might be able to stay in this state more often and for extended periods of time.
