##### Invitation Step 4 or 5 in [[πŸ’‘ The IFS Process]] Previous Step: [[πŸ’‘ Unburdening]] When a part is [[πŸ’‘ Burdens πŸͺ¨|burdened]], often some of their qualities are pushed out of their body.[^1] After [[πŸ’‘ Unburdening|unburdening]], there remains an open space to which the burden can reattach[^2], and [[πŸ”‘ It’s possible for burdens to return]],. So, invite the part to reclaim qualities of their choosing to fill the empty space the [[πŸ’‘ Burdens πŸͺ¨|burden]] left behind. Encourage them to reclaim their wholeness[^1] and invite any qualities they might need or want as they go forward.[^2] It can be anything they want to feel or embody, like love, courage, playfulness β€” whatever feels right to them. If they can't think of anything, that's okay. This step isn’t always necessary β€” sometimes nothing was ever lost. %%Ask what they would have done if they weren't so burdened or wounded. This can be emotional.[^1]%% ###### Next Step [[πŸ’‘ Retrieval]] (if they wanted their [[πŸ’‘ Unburdening]] to happen first) or [[πŸ’‘ Integrate a Part]] [^1]: [[πŸ“– βœ… IFS Online Circle]] Month 3: Working with Exiles & The Trauma Behind the Rage - Unpacking the Steps of Healing Part 1 & 2 [^2]: [[πŸ“– βœ… IFS Online Circle]] Month 3: Working with Exiles & The Trauma Behind the Rage - Month 3 with Pam Krause [^3]: [[πŸ“– 🟑 Internal Family Systems Therapy, Second Edition]]
